To whom it may concern,

If you are reading this message, I have already gone. For reasons I will explain, I fear the safety of my family and myself. In this passage, I will reveal Canadian military action, public and confidential all leading up to the activation of the “Accord’s” great machine and the destruction that it has caused. As a proud military man and a patriot of my country I wish to harm no one with the revealing of this information. The missions cast behind the scenes were planned, supported and launched by my self and no one else.

All others involved had no choice but to participate, for they were the best-trained military men and women who would die for their country and wouldn’t dare go against orders given by their superiors. All military

personnel worked on these confidential missions not knowing exactly what they were involved in.

Canadian military budget cuts forced spending from $20,164,000,000 down to $6,721,333,266 annually. Astronomical budget cuts usually mean bad things. Regardless of what was to come, prompt changes needed to be made by the Royal Canadian Forces. A statement was then released by myself which would address the issue.

Response 1: Canadian Military Budget Decimated:

“ Canadian Force Operations & Personnel withdrawals”

“Along with the withdrawal of Canadian personnel abroad, all military equipment including but not limited to warships, planes, helicopters and artillery will return to their homeports.” 

“With limitations presents the Royal Canadian military will focus on its excellence at home.”

“Excellence at Home” requires forces to be aware of anything going on in our territory, deter threats to our security before they reach our shores, and respond to contingencies anywhere else in the country.”

As the budget cut situation became all the more real, a top-secret mission was launched in the Canadian Arctic. An addition to NUNALIVUT project and the launch of “HER MAJESTIES ARK”, MISSION 111112 was in motion.

Upon the decrease of the Canadian Military Budget, a potential threat is anticipated. The royal forces have decided to launch a covert mission. The first layer of this mission will be to send the best-trained returning soldiers to join the personnel of NUNALIVUT in the Canadian arctic to train in the most harsh environments that Canada has to offer. A total of 1050 soldiers will be trained as a special operations force called “ICE.” The men of ICE will be trained to strive in the harshest of Canadian environments.

The second layer of this mission is known as “HER MAJESTIES ARC.” Some where in the Canadian Arctic will be built an enormous underground bunker/city. This bunker is capable of withstanding any natural disaster, nuclear explosion or other military forces known to mankind. Along with our nuclear weapons and our most up to date military equipment "HER MAJESTIES ARK" will be a sustainable living environment for more than some 200,000 people. Seed banks, solar power, water, vehicles, weapons, food, live-stock and more will be provided and maintained in the civilization. Under the most horrible of circumstances individuals have been preselected to take cover in “HER MAJESTIES ARK” and could potentially be some of the last surviving human beings on the planet.

The best doctors, nurses, teachers, scientists, engineers, survival experts, farmers, etc.. Canada has to offer have been carefully selected to create the most successful population possible. If there is threat of our country’s destruction the entire Canadian military will immediately retreat to our base in the arctic where they too will train to be the protectors and residence of our secret civilization. This mission will go unseen, untold and unheard by the rest of the world including our own government.

Despite the budget conflict concerning the Royal Canadian forces, a new issue had taken control over all political and social agendas globally. People of the world were in great disarray as news from the most exciting scientific discovery of all time spread across the continents like wild fire. For the first time in history mankind had come in contact with another life form. A message sent by us targeting a star 41 light-years away was responded to. Something far superior to us technologically was now aware of our existence and this did not sit well with many. The message sent was translated by specialists as being a blueprint. The blueprint was of a machine. A machine that some nations were eager to build and others were scared to build. Disagreements between nations struck fear in the hearts of many. What was the right thing to do? No one really knew. Despite what Canada believed in, it was not financially feasible to participate in the build. For the time being, Canada would sit and watch as other nations planned to build the unthinkable.

“The “Machine Accord” which includes, Japan, The United States, and the Latin American Union are planning on spending some where in the range of $5 Trillion to build an extraterrestrial communication machine.”

“This economic suicide is not something Canada is interested, or financially capable of participating in.”

“More productive projects could be funded with the money going towards the “Machine Accords” mission. Research, telescopic observation of our galaxy scanning for anything unusual, possibly even an attempt to translate the message sent back to us before reacting instantly.”

HER MAJESTIES ARK is complete. A crew of skilled military personnel stand-guard at the parameters of the bunker as protection. In company with the military personnel a community of trained specialists manage the Ark’s underground gardens, livestock, military equipment, housing, medical supplies and all other facilities.

A third layer has been added. A secret mission has been put into place to monitor every move the Machine Accord makes. Since the building of the machine has not been kept in secret, satellite images and undercover military personnel will help us know every part used to build the machine. Canadian scientists have displayed new technologies, which will help us prepare a machine our selves in a cheaper and more efficiently fashion. In the depths of HER MAJESTIES ARK we will attempt to build a prototype of the machine, if needed we will use it, if not we will destroy it. This will stay confidential from our allies until necessary.

Soon after Canadian military responses concerning the “Machine Accord” and Canada’s denial to join the build went public, the Canadian Government started communicating with the Japanese   to myself and the rest of the military. The decision was made without the consent from the Royal Canadian forces to join the Accord. This decision did not settle well with me or the Canadian people. Soon we would all realise it was the only decision to be made. As a military man I have been trained to follow orders given by my superiors, this situation was no different.

On this day, I knew nothing but fear and anxiety for what was to come. As all of humanity would come to find out these fears were valid. My public response was nothing but a crock of shit. I presented feelings of excitement, happiness, celebration and in my own words, “merriment.” None of these feelings were present within myself. In a situation such as this one, it is critical to protect your decisions regardless of personal intuitions.

No one really knows what happened to the people of the Resistor nations, one could assume they are all dead. Canada became an Accord nation. Because of this decision we are still on this planet. Our allies and friends the European Union were not only betrayed, but because of this betrayal they are gone. The following document is a review of the current affairs a year after the machine was activated.  Following the events are quotes that I gave in different areas in Canada responding to the particular issues.

The power of the machine has been unmatched by anything in history.  Although not successful, the attempt to build a prototype of the machine could create some hostilities with our current allies.  The fear that this could bring danger to my family and myself has stimulated a decision to flee the country.  My family and I have set sail on a vessel bound for the old land.  We plan on surviving as they once did in the old world, raising livestock, growing crops and surviving off the land.  With us I carry only food, supplies and my lucky compass to lead us accross the ocean towards the land of my ancestors.  I am no longer of any importance to Canada and wish the people of the new world order good luck. One Year Later: Canada's Royal Forces

ONE YEAR LATER

It has been exactly a year today since the world changed.  Although suspicious of the last minute decisions to join Accord nations, Canadians have no choice but to be grateful.  The Resistors are gone and one can only assume that they are dead or have been taken by the superiors.  We must stay true to our alliances. With out them Canadians would be gone also.  

News/Politics:

As Canada continues to prosper from the alliance with Machine Accord, Canadian people feel uneasy about the relationship Japan and the Latin American Union.

Canada will continue its path with peace and unity in mind, using its military power to help the struggling people of the world.  Royal Canadian Military equipment and personnel have been deployed to locate anyone amongst the chard wreckage that was once the Eastern Hemisphere.  If anyone is left, we will find them, if anyone is hurt we will give them medical care and if anyone is starving, we will feed them.  To the Canadians of the new world order, you shall seek no help from others but seek others whom need help. Views of faith and Religion have changed greatly.  What Christians are calling “the Rapture” has stimulated the development of new denominations not only in Christianity but among different religions as well.  Entire religions based on the ZOK'CHI/D have also been embarked on, where the words of “the Other’s” message are preached.

WHEN LIFE DIVIDES AGAINST ITSELF, PASSING AND FAILING ITS ZOK'CHI/D, THE PATTERN IS CLEAR. THE LIFE DEVELOPS, BUT IN A BROKEN, TWISTED WAY.”

  

In these religions it is no longer ok to show the immature behaviors and tendencies of childhood, especially as an adult.  Immaturity is viewed as destruction of your “turning point,” of life.  It is critical to reach maturity as soon as possible and reach “the turning point” as early as you can.  Some of the divided followers have taken down playgrounds and disallowed toys for their children.

The Machine: 

The true potential of the machine has yet to be discovered.   Communication with life across the universe has yet to be obtained.  The greatest scientists and most advanced machinery of the world have been dedicated to understand the workings of the machine.   Ecologists have played an important role in theorizing a unified universe and what will change socially, economically and politically.  No one knows if the machine will activate at any moment.

The Shield:

The shield has been a double-edged sword for Canada.  Studies have displayed evidence that the shield could have some medical side effects, which range from psychological and physiological deficiencies to possible genetic mutations.

 “ As technological advancements continue, adaptations will need to be made.   Seeing that the machine in Latin America has yet to be fully understood the Japanese shield has become the underlying issue.  It has come to our attention that medical studies have shown potential side effects from extended exposure to the shield.  With this being said it may be in our best interest to remove the shield in the near future.   As of now it is not in Canada’s interest to remove the shield until we feel completely safe.”

Economy:

The global economy is at a standstill.  With the gain of sustainable energy came the crash of the oil industry.  The replacement of fuel burning engines in Canada has been slow and seems the new energy source will take some time to take hold in the middle and lower classes.  The barren wastelands of the east seem to be of uncertain relevance for the future.

Shaken but Still Standing

    In this trying year, I have learned countless valuable lessons about humanity, the Others' intelligence, and myself. Since the machine was activated, my mind has been clear and I feel my role as a leader is redefined. While the EU initially passed several laws against further technological development associated with the Others, I am aware parts of the world continue such research and appear fully immerse in discovering more about this advanced life. While the use of military force in an attempt to stop these dangerous developments was briefly considered, I am determined to continue a peaceful approach. While before, I passively sat back and defended my nations, I know see that I can continue to be peaceful, but must actively reach out to other areas of the world to achieve success. 
    This machine efficiently divided the Resistors and the Accord, however the further subdivision I see our new world spiraling into again must be stopped. In just one year, black markets have developed for Other goods and India has sprouted programs for “Others Studies”, all the while Europe and Russia have severely outlawed anything to do with the Others. I fear that if we stay widely divided in our rebuilding of major cities and cultures, history will repeat itself and the world will be destroyed once again, leaving us two steps behind where we started. I worry about the New Australia as well and fear the shield malfunctioning, setting angry “human weapons” out to the world. I believe our world must reach a common denominator and focus our energy there for now. 
    My new role I feel must focus on uniting our nations once again by reaching out to the Other supporters and using authority if necessary to assimilate humanity. Since we know the Others have ultimate control over us and expect us to fail, I vow to attempt to prosper again. In their message the Others explained their test posed the question of the Resistors would “conquer its fear and acknowledge its inferiority among its betters or will life embrace foolish pride and trust in its puny weapons to maintain its illusion of superiority?” Though I support the discovery of new information, I disagree that as Resistors we are being foolish and not conquering fear. I believe just the opposite in fact. We acknowledge the intelligent life that is ‘superior’ to us, but we are choosing to preserve the Old World rather than succumb to the Others who assume they are better based on intelligence. 
    In the future, I would like to see the EU reach out to leaders of India and China specifically and discuss if they simply desire more information about the others or if their attempt unlock their technology is in hopes of joining the Others. Unfortunately, since events of the world are highly unpredictable these days, for now I cannot say what I see for the future after that. It is clear to me that taking deliberate actions towards unity is the only way to go now and my role of leader must be to help rebuild this severed world.

Now is the time to build our future

The New World Order presents an enormous opportunity to redefine ourselves along the lines of what we would like to be rather than what we have been in the past. With the loss of the EU, China, and Russia, all of the military adversaries of the Accord's individual nations have disappeared, and we are left with very little geopolitical strife.  We will never again get such an opportunity to build a lasting peace across nations.  The 55 Cancri have chosen us, as peaceful and scientifically capable humans, to join them in the community of life.  It is time for us to live up to their expectations, lest we fail our Zok'chi/d and be "excised" as the other half of our populace has been.

Japanese nuclear scientists, cosmologists, and astrophysicists have all studied the environmental impacts of the disposal of our nuclear waste using a Machine-created wormhole.  They have deemed that this transportation has had no negative effects on the universe.  As a symbol of both our lasting peace and our intention to join the Community of Life, the Japanese military suggests that all nuclear weapons and war machines be disposed of on February 1, the first day of International Friendship Month. At this time, we can hold a global celebration at the location of the Machine.  The celebration will mark the end of cold wars and mutually assured destruction and the beginning of the New World Order.  The transition will take time and effort on the part of all countries involved, but with cooperation, it is assured that it can be accomplished.

With the beginning of the New World Order, militaries as they were known in the Old World will be obsolete.  Our energy resources are infinite, as are our new technological abilities, and our alliances are deep.  Both the Japanese military and the Canadian military have a history of being used for humanitarian and peace-keeping efforts across the globe; it is our suggestion that global militaries be deployed to underdeveloped areas of the Accord nations and depopulated areas of Europe and Asia to work with local populations and to aid in cleanup efforts, respectively.  Military units will be retrained to function as corps of engineers, building infrastructure along their deployments across the globe.  Those military personnel who are less fit for infrastructure work will be necessary for cleanup and salvage efforts in the Eurasian continent.  It is estimated that the existing engineers in the Japanese military can start this work effective immediately, but increasing our global peacebuilding capabilities to their full potential will take 5 or more years as our former soldiers must be retrained.

With the blessing of His Imperial Majesty the Emperor, the Japanese military will heretofore be referred to as the Order of Harmony.  Although the Order of Harmony will mostly be retrained troops, it is important that our roles be recognized as distinct from what they were in the Old World.  Furthermore, although the Japanese Military only welcomed Japanese citizens, we recognize the inherently global nature of the challenges we face.  In doing so, we recognize that these challenges are best met with a group that relies on the diversity of experience and talent provided by citizens of all Accord nations.  Private citizens of any job or skill set are welcome to apply to the Order of Harmony.  We actively welcome other countries and unions and their constituents to join the Order of Harmony, and we look forward to engaging in diplomatic relations with the other Accord nations to build what may be a truly global peacekeeping organization.

The Order of Harmony wishes to move forward with the US, Canada, and the nations of Africa and the Latin American Union in our creation of a peaceful and just humanity.  As the 55 Cancri have foretold, we will grow in peace, and when we have grown, we will be welcomed into the community of life.

Canada's Military: "A Day of Merriment"

Today is an exciting day for mankind.  The most amazing scientific discovery of all time has mended global relationships and bound past enemies to form a peaceful union whom today will make history. Since the initial contact with extraterrestrial life happened, emotions have been high, anxiously waiting what is to come.  The message from 55 Cancri was a blueprint of a machine that was to be built by us in order to communicate back to the beings from another galaxy.  Originally the machine seemed to be an impossible task to complete financially and in the time allotted.   Do to the hard work from the Machine Accord and the technological advancement during the build the completion of the machine was possible.  Today, the machine will be activated.  The communication with a species from another galaxy will change humanity forever.  The species seems to be far superior technologically, making it critical for us to learn from them in the search for sustainable energy.  If we do not contact them today, the wormhole in space may close and we may never be able to contact them again, immediate contact is a must.

If something were to go wrong, Canada is prepared.  Our nations defense has never been so strong.  Over one million soldiers are active and ready for combat. All of Canada’s military equipment such as tanks, fighter jets and battle ships also are home and ready for combat at anytime.  If hostilities between other nations bloom from this machines power Canada is prepared.

I am not only a military-man, but a father and a husband who has made his decisions to protect his family.  If something were to happen to them I have failed as a commander.  For these reasons, I want to assure the Canadian people that they are safe and nothing but celebration and merriment is to come.  God save the Queen!!

Tomorrow

            It is exceedingly uncommon to know the exact date and time of the end of an era; it is easier, generally, to mark beginnings.  When the Great East Japan Earthquake devastated our islands, everything suddenly morphed into something that no Japanese citizen could have imagined.  There was no warning, no time to reflect on the events that were to follow. The ending of the pre-earthquake era was instantaneous; the beginning of our new lives was, and is, a much slower project.

The things one does before the end of an era are the things that define us as people.  When this ending is unscheduled and unpredictable, we go about our lives.  We go to work or to school.  We play sports or games.  We water our plants, pet the cats, and clean our apartments.  We think about the daily tomorrows, the deadlines, the meetings, the laundry, the dinners to cook.  We think about going to that new ramen shop on the way home from the train station.  Then, one day, tomorrow is not just a tomorrow; it is an after.  After the earthquake.  Our humanity is redefined and our tomorrows become something else.  We are no longer laundry-doers and ramen-eaters.  We are nuclear disaster cleaners and search and rescuers, rubble sifters and shelter managers.  We become something other than what we were before.

The birth of my daughter was  a bit more predictable than the earthquake.  The pregnancy progressed, my wife’s belly going from flat to distended in a few short months.  Doctors predicted her due date – the zero-hour, the end of our previous lives.  Still, we do not celebrate the end of life before a daughter; we celebrate the beginning of hers.  Perhaps this is what it means to know that the end of an era is coming.  Perhaps to know of an incoming ending is simply to predict a beginning.

The knowing, in itself, brought forth a different dilemma.  We couldn't stop our minds from skipping ahead of the todays and tomorrows, skipping to the after.  We anxiously anticipated the infinite futures that could have been, and we made mental lists of how best to prepare for millions of outcomes.  We bit our nails and waited.  Waited.  We stayed up late, red-eyed, wondering when and how and why. Even now, memories of the days before her birth are dominated by things that did not happen outside our minds.  In a way, the event of her birth brought grounding: where the before of the event was cerebral and indistinct, the after was earthly, demanding of the whole body.

I cannot pretend to know who we will be tomorrow.  I am left with the simultaneous dread and excitement inherent in change, in the infiniteness of what has not happened yet.  All that is left to do is wait.
